For the third year in a row, Cairopolitan is back with similar determination to bring together an even bigger selection of 300+ artworks designed by 100+ artists from Egypt and beyond. For the period of an entire month, cairopolitan will house this collection of prints to celebrate local and regional talents!
In an attempt to constantly break barriers and expand circles, Cairopolitan has put out an Open Call this year to welcome submissions from graphic designers and visual artists who want to include their work in our collection of prints!
As a result, we were able to reach out to the biggest number possible of artists and designers. Our focus was on those who rely heavily on social media to showcase their work, so that we can be able to provide them with a physical space where their work could be seen and appreciated by print collectors, enthusiasts or even passersby. Eventually, we were able to curate an expanded collection designed by four different and successive generations of artists and designers who come from completely diverse backgrounds.
To offer a richer visual experience, we collaborated with Rizo Masr, Egypts first printmaking center specialized in risograph and screen-printing, to produce 67 different risograph prints for 46 different artists all on A3 Fabriano paper limited edition copies.
To celebrate this edition’s identity of Cairo Prints exhibition, we made a heavy duty cotton tote bag, a t-shirt, stickers and postcards all available for sale at our store and website.
Exhibition open daily from 12pm to 9pm on weekdays and till 10pm on weekends.
8 Dar El Shefa street, Garden City, Cairo.
